Important Dates: Submission deadline of full papers: October 10, 2012.

Submission Details: Participants of EURO XXV are cordially invited to submission. Please note that only contributions of registered participants can be accepted. The format of manuscripts for “Optimization” as well as guidelines and templates can be found on the web page of Taylor & Francis, the publisher of the journal:
http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/titles/02331934.asp. Each manuscript has to be submitted via Manuscript Central System (MCS) http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/gopt.

As a new author of the journal Optimization you will get a USER ID (your email address) and PASSWORD when you enter MCS. Then please follow the instructions. During the submission procedure authors have to answer the question 'Is the manuscript a candidate for a special issue?' Here you have to tick 'yes' and then in the box 'If yes, what is the title of the special issue:' you have to write 63-1 RACO 2012. Then all manuscripts for the Special Issue 63-1 can be identified.

Call for Papers ― Journal of Global Optimization

Special Issue on OR - Connecting Sciences Supported by Global Optimization

to participants of the

EURO XXV 2012

At the occasion of the 25th European Conference on Operational Research, EURO XXV 2012, July 8-11, 2012, Vilnius, Lithuania (http://www.euro-2012.lt/), the journal Journal of Global Optimization (JOGO) invites submissions of papers to a special issue on OR – Connecting Sciences supported by Global Optimization (GO). GO has become one of the main fields of optimization within Operational Research (OR) both in theory, methods and applications. Purposes of this special issue include investigation of how GO could further contribute to OR and how the interdisciplinary nature of real-life problems can be tackled. Special OR interests and challenges of this special issue lie in (i) the economical and financial crisis that exists in Europe and other regions of the world, and (ii) development and improvement of living conditions.

The papers may include recent theoretical and applied contributions in continuous, but also combinatorial optimization as well as in control theory. Topics are drawn from any area of GO, but they should clearly work out a relation to OR – Connecting Sciences supported by Global Optimization.

JOGO publishes carefully refereed papers that deal with all theoretical, computational, and applied aspects of Global Optimization. Original research articles explore optimization in the widest sense, including nonlinear, stochastic and combinatorial optimization, multi-objective optimization, control, games, geometry, approximation, and algorithms for parallel architectures. In addition to papers covering theory and algorithms of global optimization, the journal publishes important papers on numerical experiments and applications in engineering, management, and the sciences. Of special note, readers will find thoughtful examinations of problems arising from applications.

Guest Editors: Prof. Dr. Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber, Prof. Dr. Adil Bagirov, Prof. Dr. Kaisa Miettinen

Important Dates: Submission deadline of full papers: September 1, 2012.

Submission Details: Participants of EURO XXV are cordially invited to submit. The format of manuscripts for

Journal of Global Optimization as well as guidelines and templates can be found at the webpage of Springer- Verlag, http://www.springer.com/business/operations+research/journal/10898. The submission procedure to the special issue will be announced later. All papers submitted for publication will be rigorously refereed. Please note that only contributions of registered participants of EURO XXV can be accepted. In case of any question, please contact by e-mail one of the following guest editors:

Call for Papers ― Central European Journal of Operations Research

Special Issue on
Recent Advances in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics,
Medicine and Healthcare by Modern OR

to participants of the

EURO XXV 2012

At the occasion of the 25th European Conference on Operational Research, EURO XXV 2012, July 8-11, 2012, Vilnius, Lithuania (http://www.euro-2012.lt/), the journal Central European Journal of Operations Research (CJOR) invites submissions of papers to a special issue on Recent Advances in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Medicine and Healthcare by Modern OR. Among the relatively new, but emerging fields of Operational Research (OR), there are both Healthcare and, closely related, Computational Biology,  Bioinformatics and Medicine. That OR could get established in the sectors of biology, health and medicine and, through its quantitative and interdisciplinary instruments, enriches their methodologies and contributes to and their real-world applications, has been a great achievement. Those applications are of such a great importance for life quality and life expectation of the people on earth. All four fields have a direct and natural relation to the sciences of biology and mathematics, but also to informatics and data mining. Healthcare traditionally puts a strong emphasis on management and, in particular, organization, too. With our special issue in CJOR, we aim to support the collaboration in the area of these fields and to represent state-of-the-art contributions as going to be presented and discussed at the occasion of EURO 2012. Herewith, the guest editors wish to encourage excellent research and interaction in these vibrant fields of modern OR and among them, and to stimulate excellent future science hosted and fostered in our OR family.

CJOR is the official journal of the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Operations Research which is highly supported by their fellow societies of Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The journal offers high quality papers that cover the theory and practice of OR and the relationship of OR methods to modern quantitative economics and business administration. Each issue expands our understanding of managerial problems in complex systems and supports the decision-making process. This journal features theoretical papers as well as application-oriented contributions and practical case studies. The submitted papers must not have been previously published or be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
